Baxter with her handcrafts

Baxter spins, knits, crochets and makes delightful felted products adopting the techniques pioneering ladies have used over the centuries.

Baxter heads the family based craft business which is contributed to by three generations of the family. She started knitting 15 years ago as something to do with her hands as she undertook the home education of her children. And there always seemed to be a neighbour waiting for a jumper, or a jacket, or a scarf and beanie set, or a poncho.

Handmade Products
Current Stock may be viewed every weekend at the Markets. Please keep in mind that our stock changes on a regular basis. Items can also be ordered and purchased by email or come and see us at our workshop (by appointment only) at Merlin's Keep.

Products. Handmade Jumpers, Dresses, Shawls, Gloves, Scarves, Beanies, Coats, Vests, Waistcoats, Felted Hats and Caps, Slippers, Bags
and more. Doilies, cushions, handmade wooden crochet hooks and knitting needles. Handmade timber signs and banners.

Felted Hats. Baxter says, "I love felting hats because from just the one pattern, I have created over a hundred hats, every one of them different. And the great thing about a hand felted hat is, that when you get sick of that style you can reshape it yourself while you're having a shower."

Felted Teapots. "I used to make felted teapot cosies which I displayed on tea pots, but I tired of people trying to make them fit on their heads. So I started wrapping the teapots themselves with wool and felting them. They work wonderfully and are easy to wash when the exterior gets a bit dusty."

Washing Instructions. Hand wash your woolen garments in warm water and rinse at the same temperature to avoid matting. Dry jumpers and vests on padded coat hangers, turn inside out to avoid fading.

Felting Workshops can be organised for anyone wanting to learn.
